What we Believe

The Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God. There is only one God eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.

In the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ, in His virgin birth, in His sinless life, in His miracles, in His vicarious and atoning death, in His bodily resurrection, in His ascension to the right hand of the Father, in His personal future return to this earth.

In the blessed Hope – the Rapture of the Church at Christ’s coming.

The only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentance and faith in the shed blood of Christ.

Regeneration by the Holy Spirit is absolutely essential for personal salvation.

The redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing of the human body in answer to believing prayer.

The Baptism in the Holy Spirit, according to Acts 2:4, is given to believers who ask  for it. In the Sanctifying power of the Holy Spirit by whose indwelling the Christian is enabled to live a holy life.

about our worship

Here at THE WORD, you will find an informal and spontaneous setting for worship based on the pattern of the Word of God. At this point, we would like to address some questions you may have about our congregation;

Why do we lift our hands?

“I want men every where to lift up holy hands in prayer, without anger or disputing.” 1 Timothy 2:8

Why do we clap our hands?

“O clap your hands, all peoples, shout to God with a voice of joy.” Psalm 47:1

Why do we anoint with oil?

“Is anyone among you sick? Let him call for the elders, of the church, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord; and the prayer offered in faith will restore the one who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up and if he has committed sins, they will be forgiven him.” James 5: 14 – 15

What about speaking in tongues and the interpretation of tongues?

This is an expression of the Gifts of the Holy Spirit given for spiritual uplifting, 1 Cor 12:8-14. At times, there will only be speaking forth in our known language. According to 1 Cor 14:3, “But every one who prophesies speaks to men for their strengthening, encouragement and comfort.”

What are the tithes and offerings?

We believe the Bible instructs us that everything we have belongs to God. We bring 10 percent of our income as the tithes, and we bring offerings. “Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it.” Malachi 3:10
